"Cannon! They are loading a cannon! Why? They are going to shoot!", - this phrase made captain Smollett one of the captain Obvious's avatars in ru-net. As the experience is gained, many solutions used by successful indie game developer in prototyping, development, promotion and monetizing their games seem to be obVious. But without explicitly pointing out one might take much time to spot these techniques. The talk summarizes the experience of indies, who've got 100k+ installs on mobile platforms or Steam (the lecturer is among them). Attendee Takeaway: The best practices about polishing your game, community building, working with player who like and who don’t like your game, and monetizing your work. Success stories to motivate the developers and fail stories to prevent them from making the same mistakes.
